Her story

Teen Years

Friendship, dreams, and first love

When she was 16, she met Jamie Metzger and fell in love. It was such a happy time of her life, filled with promise and dreams…

Here are Jamie's own words:

I lost my best friend, I lost someone I loved. I feel that Tricia could never be replaced.

She was my angel, my baby, my everything, and my Soulmate.

I was always there for her because all I ever wanted to do was make her happy. I was told that she died happy, but no one really knows if my baby was happy. I was happy knowing her.

I only knew her for 1 year, 1 month, and thirteen days. I wish every second that time was longer. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.

We planned on living on our own island, with our beautiful children (who looked like her), our big house with windows all over, our boat, our life. Everything I had planned included her.

Tricia, you left me without a goodbye, but when I see you in heaven, you won't have to. I pray that you knew how much I loved you. We were soulmates and that's more love than most people ever find in their entire lifetimes.

I found you at 16, but it only lasted until 17. You know that I love you with every inch of my heart.

Goodnight, My LOVE

“To be loved is the most wonderful feeling and to love is even better.”— from one of Tricia's essays
